Hi there! My name is Jenna Bantjes.
I'm a design geek and code nerd dedicated to building polished, user-friendly web applications.
I'm a Web & UI Designer based in Boston, MA.
I also have training and experience in branding, front-end coding, and print design.
If you have a project or creative need that I can help with, please get in touch.
Here's a little About Me.
I am a maker- I live to creative new things and make existing things better. I constantly look for ways to improve my surroundings. Formally trained in print design at the Art Institute of Boston, I began learning the ins-and-outs of the web upon graduation. Since then, I've been involved in various web projects as well as community art shows, branding, and making collateral for events. Following an internship at Bigfish Communications and a residency at fringe,
I worked with a team of designers to rebuild Karmaloop.com from the ground up. My most recent endeavor has been as a member of thoughtbot's apprentice.io program, where I have been learning the foundations of Ruby on Rails and designing killer web applications.
My specialty is front-end web design and development. Through strategy and process, I bring designs from rough sketches and wireframes to a semantically coded, working prototype. My interests extend beyond the web as I love working with branding, print design and marketing strategy.
When I'm not designing, I'm probably outdoors in my garden, inside cooking up a storm, or throwing a ball to my dog.
Things I'm Good At :
- Web Design
- Grid Systems
- MVC Frameworks
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Version Control/Git
- Branding & Identity
- Social Media
